Testway Youth League
BRS Coaching is thrilled to announce we’ll be joining the Testway Youth Football League in 2026!
This marks an exciting milestone for our development and advancement centres, giving our players the chance to take their training to the next level. The league operates on a flexible pay-as-you-play format, so there’s no requirement to commit every single weekend—making it accessible for players with other commitments while still providing regular competitive opportunities.
For our players, this is much more than just match time. It’s the perfect platform to put into practice everything they’ve been working on with their coaches—whether that’s technical skills, tactical awareness, or teamwork. Live matches offer a unique challenge that can’t be replicated in training, and our players will be able to showcase their abilities, test themselves against new opponents, and learn in real-game situations.
We’re proud to be joining the Testway Youth Football League, the largest Saturday youth football league in Hampshire with over 290 teams. This pioneering competition has long been recognised for its commitment to growing and developing youth football, consistently embracing innovation and championing the next generation of players.
By joining in 2026, we’re not just entering a league—we’re stepping into a community with a strong history and a passion for helping young footballers thrive. We can’t wait to see our players take to the pitch, represent BRS Coaching, and continue their football journey with pride.
Junior Premier League
BRS YFC proudly competes in the Junior Premier League, giving young players the chance to test themselves at one of the highest competitive levels outside of professional football. Our teams, ranging from U8 to U16, play weekly Saturday matches against some of the best youth sides in the country, providing an environment that challenges, inspires, and develops every player.
Alongside match days, each squad benefits from a 90-minute training session every week, led by UEFA and FA-qualified coaches on top-quality 3G and 4G pitches. These sessions are designed to refine technical ability, improve tactical understanding, and build the mental resilience needed to excel in competitive football.
The Junior Premier League has a well-earned reputation as the ideal stepping stone between grassroots and academy football. It regularly attracts scouts from professional clubs, giving talented players the opportunity to showcase their skills on a bigger stage. The standard of competition is exceptionally high, pushing players to develop faster and adapt to different styles of play.
To support ongoing development, matches are recorded using Veo cameras, allowing coaches, players, and parents/carers to review key moments. This video analysis is an invaluable tool for breaking down team tactics, tracking progress, and highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement.
Over the years, our JPL squads have achieved incredible success, with several teams reaching national finals and some even earning the prestigious title of national champions. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our players, the expertise of our coaching staff, and the supportive environment we’ve built at BRS YFC.
By competing in the JPL, we’re not just playing football—we’re preparing our players for the next step in their football journey, whether that’s moving into academy football, representing their county, or simply becoming the best version of themselves on and off the pitch.
Development Centres
Children aged 4 and up who are eager to start or enhance their football journey are invited to join our development centres. Whether they’re new to the game, looking to try football for the first time, or simply wanting to have fun with friends, this is the perfect place to begin. At our Development Centres (DC), our fully qualified and experienced coaches offer sessions for both beginners and those already playing football. These sessions are designed to help children develop new skills, improve their technique, play more football, or simply make new friends! We aim to support children in their growth and enjoyment of the sport. In addition to regular sessions, we organize friendly fixtures against local teams to support player development. These matches allow coaches to assess players in real-game situations and provide valuable insights for further improvement. At BRS, we take pride in helping children improve. Over the past eight years, more than 4,000 children have started their football journey at one of our centres, with many progressing to our advancement centres.
Advancement Centres
Our Advanced Development Centre (ADC) is specifically designed for players who stand out at our Development Centres, demonstrating a strong attitude towards learning and a solid work ethic. During the season, our players are challenged by competing against other coaching centres, development squads, and professional academies. These games provide us with the opportunity to observe how players apply what they’ve learned and allow them to test themselves against some of the best young players they may encounter. Moreover, players who continue to develop may have the chance to join our Junior Premier League teams. Since the inception of our ADC, we’ve welcomed players ranging from U5 to U15, and we have seen numerous players progress to AFC Bournemouth and Southampton FC ID programs. Additionally, we’ve been proud to contribute to the development of several players who have signed with professional academies, including Category 1 Academy Southampton FC and Category 3 Academies AFC Bournemouth, Yeovil Town FC, Portsmouth FC, Eastleigh FC and Exeter City FC. Our ethos, Talent + Effort = Excellence, is grounded in the belief that every child has talent, and by putting in the effort, they can become the best version of themselves. This philosophy shapes the foundation of our ADC program. While we aim to nurture each player’s talent, it is their effort that will ultimately enable them to succeed
